About Richard Klender...
As a longtime buddy, we began our friendship at a Promise Keepers event 7 years ago and it’s my pleasure to tell you a bit about Richard. Since then I’ve met with him weekly at 6 am for breakfast, prayer and accountability. First of all there are the facts–Richard is a songwriter, a musician and a performer of the highest caliber whose music has taken him to five countries and 27 states for concerts and speaking engagements. He has been a staffwriter for some of the world’s largest music publishers, such as Warner/Chappel in Los Angeles and Sony/Tree Publishing in Nashville. Richard’s most notable songwriting achievement to date is the child abuse anthem “Dear Mr. Jesus” which was, at the time, awarded as one of the most requested songs in the history of radio (by ASCAP) while crossing all airplay formats.

In addition to his music career Richard has written business software for the music industry and has operated a state-of-the-art recording studio where he pursues his passion for the entire recording process. Recently Richard has been developing new interests in the emerging field of digital videography. Those familiar with this medium may recognize Richard’s name as a contributing editor for one of the nation’s largest Computer Video magazines. Richard’s interest in nature video will soon come to fruition as he has recently completed filming his first Naturescape™ Serenity DVD, a personal worship DVD, which is due out soon (see products for details).

Now that you know about Richard Klender I’d like to tell you who he really is. Richard is a simple man who loves Jesus and has a heart for hurting people. These qualities are reflected in his music in a richness and a depth which is echoed both in melody and lyric. Where did this heart for the hurting come from?–From living a life with its own series of challenges. From experiencing pain, rejection and heartache first hand. From spending time caring for the lost, the sick, the homeless and, especially, the abused. As Richard and I have met and shared together over the years I have watched him meet personal adversity with integrity and lift up
those in pain by bringing it all to the cross. I even remember when this CD was just an idea he began pursuing well over 3 years ago, and he never stopped. Though one might get the idea Richard’s focus on the hurting contributes to a sad, morose performance style his music is anything but that. For it reflects the joy Richard feels when he is able to use his gifts to bring glory to God. Watching Richard sing his songs never fails to bring smiles to those of us who know him since, at that moment, we are viewing one of God’s creatures doing what he was born to do–namely bring glory to the Creator of Heaven and Earth!

Now that you know Richard’s heart I encourage you to listen to his music. I believe that, like me, you will find it to be challenging, encouraging, uplifting and especially joyful.

“I'm thankful God has given me a heart to write songs that give hope to those who have suffered and been broken... to show them the joy that I have found thru Jesus Christ. He’s waiting and watching for each and every one of us to do something with our unique gifts. Don’t fear for what could happen from trying but trust in Him and let Him show you a miracle in your life.”
